Applications open in May, with limited places available in this six-week program. Offers will be made in mid-June.
The program begins with five weeks of online learning starting in July. Participants will engage in a structured learning experience that includes a compulsory introductory session in the first week, followed by one live lesson each week (60 to 120 minutes). All lessons will be recorded, allowing participants the flexibility to study at their convenience.
In addition to the lessons, students will complete weekly assignments, requiring around two hours of independent study each week. This will help reinforce key concepts and allow participants to apply their learning in practical scenarios.
The course concludes with a one-week intensive learning block in Scone, NSW, in August. This in-person component is an exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in the industry with farm visits, hands-on learning, and seminars from leading industry professionals. The learning block will be a perfect way to connect theory with real-world practice.
Throughout the program, participants will gain valuable insights into the thoroughbred breeding industry, develop essential skills, and build a network of industry contacts. Whether you're new to the industry or looking to expand your knowledge, this program is designed to provide a comprehensive foundation.
Thoroughbred Breeders Australia will cover accommodation costs and subsidise travel for interstate participants, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to take part regardless of location.
